5 reasons you fail where others succeed

The truth we need to establish is that, you are created to succeed and not to fail. You are not designed to fail while others succeed. In God’s agenda, every creature is created to succeed. God never creates failure.

And also, the success of someone around you is not intended to hinder yours. Every human being is given the required space to succeed if they will.

So, someone’s success is not the reason for your failure.

Having said that, why do people still fail where others succeed. Why do we have people closing the same business that has given some others breakthrough?

The reason may be one of five things;

  1. Commitment to the wrong things: There is a promised land (a Canaan or place of rest) for everyone. Prov 27:8 “As a bird that wandereth from her nest, so is a man that wandereth from his place.”, 1Cor 7:20 “Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called”.

Success is made possible when you function in your gift (i.e. what you are graced for). If you are in a wrong profession or career, others will be doing well while you will be living in frustration.

We are wired differently and it is our make-up that determines what we will succeed at. The solution is for you to find your place where you are meant to succeed.

Before you venture into a lucrative business, ask yourself if you are wired for it.

  • Lack of wisdom: Ecc 10:10 KJV says that “If the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct.”

Many people are into the right things but who don’t know how to get the result they desire. Before venturing into any pursuit, the first thing you need to secure is wisdom. It will make all the difference.

Wisdom will make your journey easy and you will win fast. Jesus needed wisdom to succeed (Isaiah11:2) and so will you if you will succeed.

  • Carelessness: 1Ki 20:39-40 GW gave us an illustration about someone who is careless with important thing. It says;

When the king passed by, the disciple called to him. “I went to fight in the battle. A man turned around and brought a prisoner to me. He said, ‘Guard this prisoner. If he gets away, you will pay for his life with your own life or be fined 75 pounds of silver.’

Vs 40 But while I was busy doing other things, he got away.” The king of Israel told him, “That’s your own penalty. You have determined it yourself.”

If you handle carelessly what is important, you will fail. Though God is the builder of everything, but man must build what God has built.

Someone said, “Striving for success without hard work is like trying to harvest where you haven’t planted.”

You need focus with diligence to win in life. You need concentrated effort and thinking to succeed.

  • Wrong perspective of success:

There are two sides to this;

Firstly, Success is not mystical or a thing of luck, there is a path to follow, there is what to do and how to do it just like I have stated earlier. The person succeeding around you or in what you are doing knows something you don’t know.

So it is your responsibility to find out what you are doing wrong and locate what you must do to succeed

Secondly, Success is not about how much money you make but by how much problem you are solving. The profiting of every venture is determined by the impact it’s making in the life of people.

Though money is good, but you should never measure your success by it. The man who serves 100 people and receives $10 from each of them making $1000 is the most successful, not the one who serves one person and receives $1000.

There is a place for money and another for success

  • Lack of understanding of times and season. The Bible showed us in 1Chron 12:32 that the children of Issachar, were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do.

Life is in phases but men are in sizes. You must understand every phase of your life so that you can take advantage of it. Your time for harvest may not be the same like the other person.

Your waiting time may be longer than those around you. So, stick with God’s plan and timing for your life. That someone has early breakthrough does not mean yours will be early.

But as long as you are in the right place, your success will surely come if you refuse to quit.

Lastly, I like you to understand that success is possible for anyone who is willing to achieve it. Even though you will face opposition, you must never take no for an answer.

And like someone said, “Success happens not by chance, but because you were given a chance and took advantage of it.”

There is a chance that God has given you which is not given to another, there is something in you and around you that is your advantage for success, if you can discover it and make the best use of it, you will surely succeed.
