No greater asset, No! not any that ever existed is comparable to divine presence.
To be envied and most admired is the man who commands the presence of the Almighty God. Nothing stops or hinders him because he moves in the convoy of the most powerful force in heaven and on the earth put together.
He is not intimidated; neither will he be overridden by any known of unknown situation. He is not moved by anyone or situation but he is only moved by God.
Every child of God qualifies to command divine presence, but it is not every one of them that is accessing it. Regrettably, only a few are accessing it.
Why do believers, in an attempt to run from fiery furnace bow to worldly system when they can quench the fire? Why do believers run from the lions when they can actually stop their mouth? Why do God’s children fizzle out before the Pharaoh of this world, when they can cast their rod and swallow up his lies. The answer is the lack in understanding divine presence.
Divine presence guarantees victory on a daily basis. If you have been failing in almost every venture you go into, then its time to check if God is with you. As a child of God, every office you hold or every working place you find yourself is expected to automatically progress because you have access to divine presence.
Divine presence does not answer to just anybody, it answers to only those who are having the right positioning with God. “Turn us again and cause your face to shine upon us; and we shall be saved” Psalm 80:3. Your turning must be in tune with God’s frequency before you can command His presence. God will always require your total attention before He manifest Himself to you.
Some years back, I wanted to prove this subject and went into prayer seeking the face of God concerning divine presence. After days of waiting on God, I finally got the answer when my focus was completely on Him. God gave me a sign at that time that notifies me of His presence wherever I go. This has matured in me up to date, that am now more conscious of this great asset than never before. When we give God our best attention, He releases His presence to our life.
You will never experience the greatness of God until you begin to command divine presence. When a person’s life is void of divine presence, he becomes a cheap prey to all manner of affliction. Moses knew it when he cried “if thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence” Exo 33:15b.
Joseph, a man to be much envied was outstanding in Potiphar’s house, in the palace and even in prison. God’s presence was evident in his life which was characterized by the unusual progress he recorded everywhere he finds himself. He cherished it when he said “how can I do this wicked thing and sin against God.” Gen. 39:9b, and he acknowledged it when he replied Pharaoh that “it is not in me, God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace” Gen 41: 16.
“But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of prison” Gen 39:21. Divine presence releases divine mercy which guarantees favour with men. Those who carry divine presence are naturally favoured by men. If you always face rejection everywhere you go, then it is clear, your life is void of divine presence.
For you to command divine presence, some things must be present in your life; which was seen in the life of Jesus, Moses, David, Joseph, Paul, Peter, and many great men of old.
Meekness, a life of total submission to the will of God is the first thing that must be present in the life of any believer that must command God’s awesome presence. God will never go with you to a place He has not led you and meekness is what guarantees Him leading you.
Moses, the man who saw God face to face was recorded as the meekest man on the face of the earth (Num 12:3). He was so meek to the extent that God could rely on Him for the deliverance of a whole generation. Moses never took a decision on His own, but always depend on God before he acts.
When Jesus came on the scene, He said, “…am meek and lowly…Matt 11:29. That was the reason for His success on the earth. If we must receive divine backing, then we must be meek like Jesus. Divine presence is only guaranteed for a life that is yoked with Jesus in meekness and lowliness of heart.
Absolute dependence on God is another factor that must be in place for one to command divine presence. You have to let go and let God before the awesomeness of God can be manifested in your life. Heaven does not help those who help themselves, but those who cannot help themselves and rely on him.
Have you ever wondered why Jesus was always on top of every situation? It’s not because He is Jesus, but because of the life He lived. Apart from being meek and lowly, He depended on the father in totality. “I can of mine own do nothing…” John 5:30. When you depend on God, He envelope you with His glory and your life becomes an exclamation to your world.
Another factor that guarantees divine presence is a life of total obedience to the will of God. God will never abide in a place where He is not honoured. In Malachi 1:6, God told the priest who worshiped unworthily that “… if I be a father, where is Mine honour…”. Whenever we disobey God, we dishonor Him and His presence cannot be manifested in such case. Many believers there is, that are living in disobedience and keep wondering why their life is void of God’s glory. Samuel told Saul in 1Sam 15:22 that “to obey is better than sacrifice”.
Service to God as important as it is cannot command any form of divine attention outside obedience. It is time we begin to understand that, participating in church activities does not qualifies anyone for divine presence. It is a life that is in total obedience to what God instructs. Don’t be hasty in offering your services without checking whether it is in line with what god says. God will never require you to offer more than what He has given you. Hear this! That you borrow to give in church does not provoke God an inch to step into your situation. Your sacrifice should be within what you have and not what you don’t have.
Do you know that some people even steal to give to God? Look at Saul, he acted contrary to God’s instruction and tried to justify himself by saying he spared the spoils in order to sacrifice to God (See 1Sam 15). God never plays with total obedience. If you place sacrifice first before considering obedience, you will definitely miss God. But if you allow obedience to rule you, sacrificing will easily become your lifestyle.
It is not the amount of the word of God that you memorize that guarantees divine presence, but the amount of the word of God that you do. The more of the word that you practice will determine the more of His presence that you will carry. Remember that even the devil knows the scripture and yet he lacks God’s presence. So, it is not in the knowing but in the doing that God manifests. Jesus was in total obedience to the father and He was never left alone by the father. “And He that sent Me is with Me; the Father hath not left Me alone; for I do always those things that please Him” John 8:29.
Finally, a life of sacrificial praise will not only command God’s attention, but will bring God into any situation hastily. Sacrificial praise is a kind that originates from the heart irrespective of current challenges. Jesus live always in praise to the Father, He never underestimate God’s workings with Him.
It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; …that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD; So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God. 2Ch 5:13-14. When you live a praiseful life, God’s presence becomes your daily asset. David the king never lost a battle all his life because he was a God praiser.
When you command His presence, you partake of the benefits that accompany divine presence: fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11), victorious life (Psalm 29) and so on. You can command His awesome presence by becoming meek and living an obedient life that is full of sacrificial praise to Him.
Divine presence is your greatest asset, don’t underrate it because you wont know how powerful your God is until you start commanding His presence and you will never know how ordinary and powerless you are until you begin to live without it. Shalom
