Peter was a professional fisherman who went out fishing at night (a period when fishes are best caught), but he caught nothing. All his fishing skills failed and being frustrated he gave up. It was at this point that he met Jesus and he became a celebrity. Despite his failed attempts, he tried again based on the word of the Jesus and he had a net breaking caught. After this incident, Jesus told him, “follow me and I will make you fishers of men”. The last instruction was not difficult for him to obey because he knew what Jesus could do. (Luke 5:2-10; Matt 4:9)
Beloved, have you failed before? Or maybe you are witnessing failure right now. The good news is; the time has come for you to have a change of story. Your qualifications can fail you. Your skills and talents can fail like that of Peter. But Jesus never fails. The secrets to your breakthrough in that area of concern are with Him. Until you switch over to a life controlled by Jesus and His word, you can never come out of your struggles.
There is one undisputed way to be totally free from the struggles of life: and that way is to follow the one who is “success” Himself. Jesus told Peter “follow me and I will make you”… Jesus is still very much in the business of making a great somebody out of nobody. You are stranded in life because you are controlled by circumstances and opinions around you. Its time you allow the one who never fails to control your life.
The Bible says in Proverbs 10:24 that “… the desire of the righteous shall be granted”. God knows what your desires are and He knows how to bring them to pass. Your struggles will not bring it to pass. God knows the way out for you and He wants to lead you to victory, fruitfulness, prosperity, health and every wonderful desires of your heart. All you need to do right now to end that life of struggles is to make a decision to follow Him. When you follow Him and His ways, He will make you into that which your heart desired.
Those who follow God never have any lack, because He leads them to where there is constant provision for them. “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want…” (Psalm 23:1).
To start your journey into followership of Jesus today, you need to give your life in totality to Him right now. It doesn’t matter how long you have been going to church. I urge you to go to God in prayer and surrender your life in its entirety to Him and your story will turn into glory.
But don’t stop there yet. Jesus said, “My sheep hears My voice…”. One thing that will determine your success in your journey with Jesus is to know His voice. You can start recognizing His voice by studying and meditating on the word of God as written in the Bible. Not only this, you need to thirst for the infilling of the Holy Spirit, so that Jesus’ voice can be so clear to you.
Today is your day to step out of failure into victory.
