Every one of us has an appointment designated to us by God to accomplish on earth. It your responsibility to get it done.
Whether you will get your appointment accomplished will depend on your response to it. There are different responses that people display towards divine appointment for their lives. Some ignore it completely, others paid little attention to it while selected few gave it the required attention. The bible says;
Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. (1Co 12:4-7 KJV)

God releases His gifts on us so that we can make profit with it. If you are not making profit with what God has deposited in you in form of gifts, you are not responding well to your appointment.
When Paul received God’s appointment for his life, he immediately moved into action; he said “Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision: But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.” (Act 26:19-20 KJV).
We all have a limited time to accomplish our appointed duty on earth. So, we must respond promptly to what we have been assigned to do. To do this we need to mix zeal with knowledge. It is dangerous to have zeal without knowledge and also fatal to have knowledge without zeal.
For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. (Rom 10:2 KJV)
To have zeal means to have a feeling of strong eagerness (usually in favour of a person or cause). It also means to have excessive fervour to do something or accomplish some end or Prompt willingness to do something.
And to have knowledge means; the (technical) knowledge and skill required to do something or the psychological result of perception and learning and reasoning. These can be summed up in “the ability to discern things”. To have knowledge means you have the capacity for full discernment of an issue.
Jesus had zeal accompanied with knowledge and that was why He finished well (John 2:17). Paul had zeal, but without knowledge before He met Christ (Phil 3:6), and instead of profiting God’s kingdom with his gifts, he rather persecuted the church. You need zeal with knowledge to avoid perverting your appointment and in turn, using it against God. If you don’t have knowledge, you will pervert your gifts.
Your need strong eagerness and prompt willingness to accomplish what you have been appointed to do. The bible says; “If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the land.” (Isa 1:19 GW). You must allow God’s purpose or appointment for your life to consume you to the point of leaving no stone unturned towards its accomplishment. You must be obsessed with it and stay focused on it even at odd times.
In addition to being zealous, you need discernment (i.e. knowledge) of how to deliver your appointed task. The bible says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…” (Hos 4:6 KJV). Knowledge is the key that unlock hidden abilities and opportunities in life. Knowledge makes profiting possible.
Knowledge can be described as the “know-how” of a thing or venture. The bible says; The labor of fools wearies him, because he does not know how to go to the city. (Eccl 10:15 MKJV). If you have zeal without the know-how, you will end up in regret. Knowledge sharpens you gifts.
So how do we get adequate knowledge;

We get adequate knowledge to maximize our appointment by learning. Knowledge is a function learning.
And how do we learn? We learn by studying relevant books and listening to relevant teachings.
I will like to recommend to anyone who wants to fulfill divine task for their lives to read the bible as the major relevant book and listen to the Holy Spirit as the major relevant teacher. The bible is the foundational book that guarantees success in life and the Holy Spirit is the only teacher who can reveal the meaning of everything documented in the bible.
In addition to studying the bible and listening to the Holy Spirit, you also need to read other books (both professional and spiritual) that deals with your appointed place and duty. You also need to listen to people who have knowledge in the area of your appointment. Studying books and listening to teachings will give you a leap and acceleration into the future that God has designed for you.
Lastly, if you have not given your life to Jesus, I want you to know that you cannot have access to the Holy Spirit and neither would you be able to understand the word of God. So, I like you to do it right now. Ask Jesus to come into your life and ask Him to forgive you of your sins. Your life will never remain the same again.
