In the world today, people live their lives for various things. Some live for money; some live for fame and pride of life; some others are living their lives to please men or themselves. But the best and most rewarding way is to live a life that glorifies God and His kingdom.
Living your life for God and His kingdom positions you to enjoy God’s peace, which goes beyond anything we can imagine (Phil 4:7). It is the only way that guarantees fulfillment in life. No matter the amount of money or power that you have; you cannot experience the peace and satisfaction that heaven releases.
One of the reasons you cannot find peace and satisfaction outside God is because, God created you for His pleasure (Revelations 4:11). And you cannot please God until you are living for Him.
Whatever you live for will definitely control your life. If you are living for money, it will control you and make you do unholy and illegitimate things to get it. The Bible says “But people who want to get rich keep falling into temptation. They are trapped by many stupid and harmful desires which drown them in destruction and ruin.” (1Ti 6:9 GW1). If you are living to please men, you will end up living with insecurity for the rest of your life.
But living for God guarantees success, prosperity, peace, health, security and above all – eternal life. Jesus said, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Mat 6:33 KJV2).
Your journey to living for God starts when you surrender your life to Jesus by being born again. This involves you believing that Jesus came in the flesh, died and rose again from the dead. The next thing to do after believing is to confess Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. You can do that right now by praying this prayer; say…
Lord Jesus, come into my life. Forgive me my sins and wash me with your precious blood. I accept you as my Lord and Saviour today. Write my name in the book of life and make me your own. Amen.
If you just prayed this prayer, your journey to living for God has just begun. I encourage you to start studying and meditating (thinking) the word of God as written in the Bible; you will also need to belong to a Bible believing church so that you can grow spiritually. Remain blessed.
