Everyone needs peace to enjoy all that God has packaged in life for them. The truth about peace is that it cannot be bought with money, nor can any invention of man give peace. But God’s word showed us a way to enjoy not just any peace, but perfect peace. I believe this exploration will mark the beginning of a life void of crisis for you in Jesus’ name.
The Bible says, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” (Isaiah 26:3 KJV)
From this scripture, it is evident that the only One who can keep you in perfect peace is God. Jesus, the Son of God who is one with the Father, is called the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). When He came into the world, He told His disciples in John 14:27 KJV: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
So, the source of perfect peace is God through Jesus Christ. This is a guaranteed peace and it doesn’t depend on what is happening in the world. It is not man-made, nor is it purchased with money. It is priceless! Now, if this peace is priceless, how do we enjoy it? You enjoy perfect peace by putting your absolute trust in God. When you genuinely trust in the Lord, He ensures that you are kept in perfect peace.
Trusting in the Lord means total reliance on His provision for your life. It is a position of stability and comfort in the assurance that He is able to do what He promised. The Bible says, “Those who trust in the Lord are as unshakeable, as unmovable as mighty Mount Zion!” (Psalm 125:1 TPT).
To reach the level of trust in God that releases perfect peace, you must be established in the knowledge of His promises. You can’t put your trust in God until you know Him and understand His words. The Bible says, “Those who know you, LORD, will trust you; you do not abandon anyone who comes to you” (Psalm 9:10 GNB). Knowing God intimately releases upon you the grace to trust Him.
You can know God through a life dedicated to prayer, study, and meditation on His word. You must develop a relationship with God through His word and through experience. Trust is not only built on hearing; it is also built on experience as you obey Him. David could put his trust in God to face Goliath because he had experienced God delivering him from a lion and a bear (1 Samuel 17:34-37). He faced the giant with peace because his trust was in the Lord his God.
It doesn’t matter what is troubling your life; you can enjoy the perfect peace of God and experience a triumphant life if you put your trust in Him. Trusting in God will not only grant you peace, but it will also deliver victory to your life no matter the severity or enormity of the circumstance. David not only enjoyed peace facing Goliath, but he also experienced effortless victory. I pray that the peace of the Lord will envelop your life and deliver victory to you in every area of your life as you put your trust in Him in Jesus’ name. Be blessed.
